Hello! I apologize for this late reply to your recent question about prednisone and brain vitality! In response, yes, prednisone can really help the brain sometimes! My take on this is that prednisone is acting like a synthetic version of cortisol on the brain as well as elsewhere. This "cortisol-like" effect from prednisone on people likely implies that those people need adrenal support. If you would like more advice on adrenal fatigue and how to address this important issue,it is coming in a future blog. Dr. Cometa,
I recently was perscribed prednisone for a bad case of poison ivy, 5mg 6 x a day slowly working down after 11 days to the last 2 a day, along with an antihistamine. At the height of the treatment I regained mental clarity that I have not had in a few years. It was a wonderful feeling to have memory back. I am post-menopausal and taking estriol and triest alternatively. Any ideas on what might have been the mechanism for this? Can I reproduce it w/out meds?

Also, reading a great book: 'Spark' by John Rately on the benefits of exercise on the brain as well as the body. Have you read this?

I started taking the Corvalen suppliment (along with other things recommended by Dr. Cometa) in November and was simply stunned to the amount of energy I had all during the winter months. Usually I am a total couch potatoe when it is cold but not this past winter.
